Hi there,Today I'm sharing some tag art décor created with a beautiful art drawing from Rita's book, "Magical Theatre." The base for this tag art is the mushroom scene located on page 25 of the book. The Magical Theatre book is jam packed with fun ideas for backgrounds and paper dolls, and completely loaded with beautiful art by Rita. I really enjoyed playing with the mushroom scene and look forward to playing with additional scenes and the lovely paper dolls that are included in the book. Take a peek at my tutorial below.
Next, I continued coloring and blending the inks until I was happy with the end result.
I then used a stencil and white paint to transfer a script pattern to the colored scene.
Next, I cut the colored scene into (2) 4 3/4 x 8 pieces and adhered the pieces to chipboard. I snipped the corners to create the tag effect and punched a hole in each tag using a Cropadile.
Using a sponge, I applied white paint to the edges of the tags to distress them.
Next, I added some dyed ribbon to bind the tags together and to accent the tags.
I then applied Ann Butler's Limelight ink to the wooden words with a paint brush, distressed the edges with white ink and adhered them to the front of the focal tag.
Lastly, I added charms to the ribbons to enhance the overall design. I really enjoyed playing with the mushroom scene from Magical Theatre by Rita and Ann Butler ColorBox inks. Both products complimented each other well and provided the perfect balance for this tag project.
