Happy Day Mini Album using Xyron & Simple Stories

Hi there,

Xyron has partnered with Simple Stories this month. I received a really cool and fun Simple Stories paper collection to play with called, Sunshine & Happiness.  The elements within the collection were so fun to create with.
Today, I am sharing a sweet little mini album I created using the collection. This album came together very quickly. Take a peek at my tutorial below.

Supplies

Corrugated Board (2): 4 ¼ x 6 ¼

Gesso

Foam Brush

Ribbon

Paper Straws

Pins

Ball and Chain

Cinch/Binding Tool & Coils

Distressing Tool

Sanding Bar

3D Tape

Step 1: Distress 2 pieces of corrugated board and apply gesso using foam brush. Let dry.

Step 2: Trim patterned paper to 4 ¼ x 6 ¼, distress with sanding bar and run through the New Creative Station.

Step 3: Adhere the patterned papers to the backs of each gesso’d corrugated board and sand with sanding bar. Note: This will create the inside covers.

Step 4: Decide which papers and mats to add as pages of the mini album. Trim papers down to 4 X 6 and distress all patterned papers using a distressing tool.

Step 5: Using a binding tool, punch holes in pages and use coils to bind the album. Note: I added mats, and burlap inserts to give this Mini more fun and textural elements.

Step 6: Run Sunshine & Happiness patterned papers and die cuts through the New Creative Station and adhere to the front cover.
Step 7: Using the 3” Sticker Maker, apply adhesive to smaller Sunshine & Happiness die cuts and adhere to front cover.

Step 8: Continue building the front cover with stickers from the collection. Add paper straws.  Note: I used 3D tape to pop up some elements of the cover.

Step 9: Add bow, brad and die cut tags to the coils using a ball and chain.
Step 10. Continue embellishing the album as desired. Add patterned papers and stickers throughout the mini album.

Dream Journal with DCWV's Watercolor Stack

Hi there
Today, I am sharing a Journal created with the Watercolor paper stack. This stack is full of colorful patterns that remind you of fun tropical elements. The papers were perfect for this Dream Journal. I coupled the journal with some Blue Moon charms and distressed ribbon. They really helped enhance the overall design.  I’m including an easy tutorial below.

Dream Journal

Supplies
DCWV Stack: Watercolor
Journal
Pins
Charm
Button
Trimmer
Scissors
Ribbon
Black ink
Xyron Adhesive
Hot Glue
3D Tape

Instructions

Step 1: Trim patterned paper from the Watercolor stack down to 5 x 7 ¾ and run though the New Creative Station.

Step 2:  Adhere paper to the journal. Note: Begin securing the paper to the front cover, wrapping around the binding and then securing the remaining paper to the back of the journal. When you are done, you would have covered both front and back covers with 1 piece of patterned paper.

Step 3: Trim additional pieces of coordinating papers from the Watercolor stack and run them through the New Creative Station.

Step 4: Adhere strip of patterned paper to journal and apply black ink to edges of journal.

Step 5: Add ribbon to the journal and tie knot.

Step 6:  Adhere focal image layers together and adhere to journal with 3D Tape.

Step 7: Attach charm to bow and then onto journal using hot glue.

Step 8: Add crystal button to bow and charm. Add additional bows as desired.

Step 9: Add crystal pins and continue embellishing as desired.
