Birthday Card using My Favorite Things & Xyron's New Creative Station

Hi there,

Today I am sharing a Birthday Card that I created using My Favorite Things and Xyron products- Such a great combination. In the card below, I was able to create a fun card using MFT’s Wildflowers stencil and stamp sets, and Xyron's New Creative Station. Take a peek at the tutorial below:

Supplies

My Favorite Things:

·        Stencil (LJD-Wildflowers)

Watercolor Paper: (2) 3 ¾ x 5

Olive Cardstock: 4 x 5 ¼

Printed Burlap Base (DCWV)

Black Ink

Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)

Ink Sprays (Lemon, Orange, Lime Green)

Foam Tool

Jute

Button

Gesso

3D Foam Tape

Step One: Using black ink and floral stamp set, stamp flowers on watercolor paper.

Step Two: Lay stencil on watercolor paper and spray inks on the water color paper and stencil to transfer the stencil pattern on to the watercolor paper.

Step Three: Lay additional watercolor paper on top of inked stencil. Continue adding additional pieces of watercolor paper one at a time until most of the loose ink is transferred to the sheets.  Let each sheet dry. Note: This extends the use of the ink that remains on the top of the stencil and provides awesome backgrounds for future projects.

Step Four: Using black ink, stamp birthday sentiment on to inked watercolor paper and trim paper down. Set aside.

Step Five: Apply vintage photo ink using foam tool to the stamped and inked watercolor paper.

Step Six: Wrap jute around to the stamped and inked watercolor paper and tie knot. Set aside.

Step Seven: Apply vintage photo ink using foam tool to olive colored cardstock layer. Set aside.

Step Eight: Run stamped watercolor paper and olive colored cardstock layer through the New Creative Station. Note: The New Creative Station currently holds the 9” cartridge.

Step Nine: Layer card together. Note: The New Creative Station makes this step effortless.

Step Ten: Change cartridge in the New Creative Station to the 5” cartridge by removing the 9" cartridge, flipping up the green 5" adapter and sliding the 5" cartridge inside. Close the Creative Station door.

Step 11: Run the birthday sentiment through the New Creative Station. Note: I stamped several stampings of the sentiment to make great use of my adhesive. The additional stampings can be used for future projects.

Step 12: Adhere the sentiment to the card and add button. Note: I covered the button with gesso and added vintage photo ink to the button.
