Today, I’m sharing a Father’s Day Keepsake that I created using the new Xyron Creative Station, wooden frames and patterned paper. This project is full of layers and lots of texture. The various patterns add such great visual appeal. The ribbon adds just the right classic touch. I love how this turned out. I'm including a tutorial below:
Xyron Creative Station
Patterned Paper: 1st Layer (7 ¾ x 7 ¾) 2nd Layer (7 ½ x 7 ½)
Coordinating Paper Layers: 3 1/4 x 7 1/2, 3x 7 1/2)
Cream Cardstock: 5 x 5, 2 ½ x 4 ¼
2 Wooden Frames: Large (7 3/4 x 7 3/4), Small (5 1/4 x 5 1/4)
Punches: Scallop, Slot
Step 1: Begin by placing patterned paper layers on Feed Tray. Note: My Xyron Creative Station currently holds the 9” Adhesive Cartridge to accommodate the larger papers that I'm using for this project. I will also use the 5" adhesive cartridge later in the tutorial for smaller paper sizes.
Step 2: Turn handle to advance premium paper layers through the Creative Station. After completely advancing through the Creative Station, press down and slide the cutting blade across the cut bar.
Step 3: Rub edges and remove film from adhesive paper.
Step 4: Layer the patterned papers together and adhere to frame.
Step 5: Run coordinating paper layers through the Xyron Creative Station. Note: I used a scallop edge punch on one of the coordinating layers.
Step 6: Adhere the layers together and punch a slot on the top and bottom of layer.
Step 7: Run ribbon through the slots and adhere on back. Adhere to frame.
Step 9: Using hot glue, adhere small frame to the larger frame.
Step 10: Switch cartridges in the Xyron Creative Station to the 5” Adhesive Cartridge by opening the door and removing the 9” Adhesive Cartridge.
Step 11: Flip the adaptor upward and slip the 5” Cartridge in the grooves between the adaptor and the left side of the Creative Station, ensuring the film fits between the two black bars. Close door.
Step 12: Run smaller patterned layers and journaling spots through the Creative Station. Note: The sizes of these may vary.
Step 13: Adhere patterned paper to small wooden frame. Set aside.
Step 14: Stamp sentiment onto vanilla cardstock, layer sentiment and journaling spots together.
Step 16: Add bow using hit glue and continue embellishing as desired.
