BOO! Canvas using TCW Stencils

Hi there,
Happy Halloween!!
I'm sharing this  Halloween canvas that I created using The Crafter's Workshop's Sketch Grid stencil. I love this stencil.  I use it often in many of my crafting projects. It compliments your work beautifully and is quite versatile. Read more about this project, here.

Mixed Media Journal: Xyron, Core'dinations and Petaloo Blog Hop

Hi there,
It's Blog Hop Time!!! The Xyron Design Team is blog hopping with Petaloo and Core'dinations all week. Visit the Xyron Blog to see more inspiration from the design team.

For my post featuring Xyron, Core'dinations and Petaloo, I created a Mixed Media Journal. I used my Xyron 9" Creative Station, Chalk Core Core'dinations cardstock, and Petaloo flowers. This was an awesome combination of goodies to play with and a lot of creative fun. Check out my tutorial below.

Mixed Media Journal (6 x 8)
Core'dinations Chalk Core Cardstock
Core'dinations Sanding Block & Cleaning Cloth
Black Paint
Resin Frames
Cinch Machine
Cinch Binding Machine
Cinch Coil
Die Cut Machine
Embossing Folder
Cosmetic Sponge
 Hot Glue
Step 1: Trim a sheet of Core'dinations Chalk Core cardstock to the size of the cover of journal and apply gesso to the cardstock using a cosmetic sponge. For this this project I used  a 6 x 8 mixed media journal that I created a cover for using cardstock and chipboard.

Step 2: Emboss cardstock using a die cut machine and embossing folder.

Step 3: Distress the raised embossed areas of the cardstock, exposing the colored core. The Core'dinations sanding block is perfect.

Step 4: Rub the excess sand from the cardstock using the Core'dinations cleaning cloth.
Step 5: Run cardstock through Xyron 9" Creative Station.
Step 6: Pull film off the cardstock and adhere to 6 x 8 chipboard.

Step 7: Using the Coffee Splotch stencil and white paint, transfer image to cardstock. Let dry.
Step 8: Remove paper cover from the journal and replace with your new cover created in step 7. Punch holes in journal covers and mixed media pages and bind book with coil.

Step 9: Using the Sketch Grid stencil and black paint, randomly transfer image to journal cover. Let dry.

Step 10: Apply gesso to the Petaloo flowers, buttons, and charm and add them to the journal cover as desired with hot glue.

Step 11: Apply black paint randomly to embellishments with finger.

Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop

Hi there,

We're having a fun Blog Hop over at Craft-Dee BowZ today. The theme for this month is “Trick or Treat.” I created this little Halloween card. This was so much fun to create.   I used organza ribbon and the Craft-Dee BowZ tool to create the multi-loop bow. I love how simple creating bows are using the bow tool.
