Summer Journal: Xyron/Simple Stories/May Arts Blog Hop

Hi there,

We have been blog hopping with our friends over at Simple Stories and May Arts all week.  Both companies have such cute products. Xyron's products complimented them well, and creating with all of them made the creative process for this project so much fun.

I love this Summer Journal.  I used Simple Stories "Good Day Sunshine" collection.  I love the vibrant colors and cool mix of coordinating stickers and patterns.  I added some really cool May Arts ribbon. The ribbon had a straw like texture that really added some fun appeal to the journal.  I am including a tutorial below.

Supplies:
Journal/Notebook
Patterned Paper
Coordinating Stickers
Coordinated Chalk
White Paint
Stencil: TCW Sketch Grid
Ribbon
Flowers
Paint Brush
Xyron: 9" Creative Station, Teresa Collins Mega Runner
Trimmer

Step1: Trim base layer to size of journal and edge with coordinating chalk.

Step 2: Run base layer patterned paper through Xyron 9" Creative Station.

Step 3: Adhere Simple Stories Patterned Paper to journal cover.
Step 4: Edge coordinated patterned papers with chalk and layer together with Teresa Collins Mega Runner.

Step 5: Continue adding patterned paper layer until happy with the result.

Step 6: Using the TCW 456s Sketch Grid stencil white paint and sponge, transfer stencil pattern to journal.

Step 7: Add coordinating stickers to the journal.

Step 8: Add May Arts ribbon to journal. This particular ribbon is wired raffia and extremely flexible to work with. Wrapping the ribbon around a paint brush enables a cute twist effect.
Step 9: Add bow created with May Arts netting ribbon.
Step 10: Add additional Simple Stories stickers to the journal and resin embellishments and flowers. Continue embellishing as desired.
