A Helping Hand by Phindy's Place

Hi there,

Well, I have been playing and playing with some lovely digital images from Phindy's Place. Her images are so cute. I complimented this precious image with some K and Co. Paper, CTMH paper, buttons, ribbon, TH metal charm, and of course some copics. After coloring this image, I cut it out with a nestie and then airbrused around my image. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it...:)

Sunflowers and Dragonflies Challenge 27- ATCs

Hi there,

Today I want to share some ATCs that I created for Sunflowers and Dragonflies using the "Beautiful Life Series." These are some beautiful stamps and so worth creating with. This week we challenge you to create ATCs. This challenge will be so much fun. ATCs are beautiful pieces of art measured at 3 1/2 X 2 1/2. They lend themselves to all sorts of possibilities and provide so many options to show off your little beauties.

My ATCs are below:
I used Lottie & her coordinating flourish. I chose to color, shade, and airbrush with copics: E29, E13, E12.

On this ATC, I used Cheyenne and her coordinating flourish. I also used copics: R02, R12, R0000 to color. The background for both Ladies were colored with copics as well.

You have an opportunity to win any two of the the beautiful ladies in the Beautiful Life Series by participating in our challenge and following the challenge requirements. The challenge ends this Friday. Show us what you can do with your own ATCs!!! Good Luck!!!

Sunflowers & Dragonfllies Twinchie

Hi there, I thought that I would continue on with our Sunflowers & Dragonflies challenge creating inchies and twinchies. I created the following card with a twinchie.

Love this cupcake!! It is by Sunflowers and Dragonflies and so perfect for Birthdays, Thinking of you, as well as Celebrations. My cupcake layer is a 2 X 2 (Twinchie) with additional coordinating layers. I colored my cupcake with copics and added stickles to dazzle you a little..:) I also added some Basic Grey paper along with some Creme Brulee CTMH embossed cardstock. To make this card pop just a tad, I added some scalloped borders in chocolate. All papers and cardstock were aged with vintage photo distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Hugs, Karen

Sunflowers & Dragonflies Challenge 25 (Inchies & Twinchies)

Don't you just love it??? Inchies and Twinchies are the craze these days. They are so cute and make such precious additions to any artwork. Today Sunflowers & Dragonflies challenges you to create inchies and twinchies. Inchies are 1 X 1 pieces of artwork and Twinchies are 2 X 2 pieces. They are such jewels. You can take elements of a stamp to create an inchie or Twinchie or you can use smaller stamps to accommodate the specific size you need. The design team had so much fun working with both inchies and twinchies for this challenge. Please visit Sunflowers and Dragonflies to see all the wonderful work. My inchie and the card I created using it are below.

I decided to create a card with my inchie using some paper from K and Co. My inchie is a cupcake by Sunflowers and Dragonflies. It is absolutely the most precious little stamp. I colored my cupcake with copics and added some stickles. I then put my cupcake in my little air brushed i'kandee frame and added it to my card.

Don't forget. You get an opportunity to win some goodies if you participate in our challenge. This week the winner of the challenge will get 1 of each 1 1/4 cupcake as shown on our blog.
Thanks for stopping by...:)

All layered on a CTMH 6 X 6 textured blush card. I loved this challenge. Sunflowers & Dragonflies Challenge 23 (Faux Stitching)

Hi there,

One of the most awesome things about our craft is that we get an opportunity to challenge each other daily, weekly, and monthly. Sunflowers and Dragonflies challenges you this week in creating a card using the Faux Stitch technique. The deadline for the challenge is Friday, January 15th. You have an opportunity to win 2 beautiful stamps from the Beautiful Life series.

Faux Stitching adds so much character to cards and lends itself to so many opportunities. I absolutely loved working with this technique this week. My card is shown below.

I chose to use Amber for this technique. The card is an A2 size with layers of Basic Grey papers. I faux stitched around Amber and the layer underneath her. Amber was airbrushed with copic markers for a soft look. I added ribbon and metals to complete the card. Please visit our blog to join in the challenge and to see all of the beautiful work of the design team using the faux stitch technique. Enjoy, Karen

ATC Wall Art

OK- So, I have been playing for the past 2 days on a little something special for my Palace. We need to do that occasionally...8:) If you are like me you are usually making something for someone else, hardly for self. This time I decided to make something solely for me. I am sharing with you, my little vintage ATC collection that I have just finished and framed. I usually make ATC's for swaps, but hardly ever create a treasure using them. This ATC Wall Art piece was the inspiration for a class that I will be teaching to my wonderful stampin club buddies in Charlotte. For their class we are going to put a twist on the final piece. Everyone will create ATCs in class to be swapped to create a frameable piece. Everyone will have work of their own and work of their stampin buddy too...8:)

For this project, I used K & Co. Life's Journey embossed papers and clips. I pulled several embellishments from my stash. Love that!!! I am a true hoarder of embellies and I am going to do better in 2010. I also used some formica-I hoard this like crazy!!!!. I am doing better. I also used some, metals, ribbon, airbrushed flowers, embossed vellum, vintage findings from Making Memories and some vintage optical lens. It feels amazing to use this product. In one project, I have used items that I have been holding on to for over 5 years. I really enjoyed creating this. I hope that you enjoy viewing..:)

Happy New Year!!!! Great News....

Hi there and Happy New Year!!! I am starting this year off with some wonderful news. I am now a new Design Team member of Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I am extremely excited about the new position and look forward to sharing some creative work using the company's stamps and products. I will be offering a nice giveaway to celebrate my new DT position, which will be featured on my blog tomorrow. Please take some time and check out all of the new Design Team members at Sunflowers and Dragonflies. Hugs, Karen

Today, I am sharing a card that I created using the Mahone Bay stamp by Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I coupled the stamp with some La Creme paper by DCWV and some coordinating ribbon. My flower was airbrushed with copic markers YR31, E33, and 100 (Black). I also added some gems and an acrylic tag that was backed with La Creme paper. Enjoy!
